First post & Spring is here!

Hello everyone!

Welcome to my second blog, which will showcase the photos I take. My primary blog, Angela Collins Beauty, showcases different beauty tips and tricks I have learned over the years.
I am by no means a photographer, but I do love taking pictures. This past November, I invested in my first DSLR. After months of research and going in-store to try them out, I found the Nikon D3200 (Get it here!) to be my perfect fit. It is the beginner model from Nikon and it is very user friendly. Most importantly, it takes outstanding photos!

As far as lenses go, I have the 18-55mm lens that the camera comes with, as well as the 55-200mm telephoto zoom lens (Get it here!). I also have a UV filter that I interchange between both lenses.

To edit my photos I use a few different things. Sometimes I'll just use the Windows Live Photo Gallery, and other times I will use PicMonkey. If I am really in the editing mood, I will use Photoshop Elements 12 (Get it here!). In all honesty, I don't edit my photos too extremely. I just crop them and adjust the exposure if needed.

I prefer to shoot outside or in natural light. Low light is my enemy right now, but I have been using Shutter priority on my camera and it's been a lifesaver. I absolutely LOVE shooting sports, kids, and pets. My dream would be to shoot couples and maybe even a wedding someday.

Now here are some recent photos I took, since I live in Michigan and spring has literally just arrived here:

I absolutely love flowers. They are so easy to shoot and the colors always turn out so vibrantly!

I plan to post as often as I can. My husband coaches high school tennis so I will be posting some of my sports shots from that. I also enjoy shooting both of my cousins children and I will post some pictures of them soon.

My goal with this blog is just to show y'all how I take my pictures and what kinds of settings I use so that maybe you will feel inspired to take some too. Photography is not as complicated as you think, so don't be afraid to snap, snap, snap!

XOXO,

Ang
